The Maruti Gypsy was launched in 1985 and then was face-lifted in 1996 and it is an icon today. The rear passenger’s seats are not as comfortable as that front seats which also offer good level of comfort and back support. The Gypsy King is fun to drive when off the road and negotiating trails. It has been rated by ARAI to deliver a maximum fuel efficiency of 11.96 kmpl and while it is quite dated it was a very good car, period. The Maruti Gypsy was built to handle off-road trails and mountain paths and it shows. It has good braking which aids the driver in controlling the car in tough situations. The Maruti Gypsy King was built to take on the worst terrains possible and decades down holds the title to one of the most sought after off-roaders. The ride on-road though is not good and clearly exposes its age.
